Accelerate, Powered by NetVU, Conference Scheduled for April 29-May 2 in Minneapolis Cancelled

First and foremost, we want to personally extend our best wishes for your health and well-being and that of your loved ones, your colleagues and coworkers, our system business partners, and your insureds. These uncertain times are proving once again how extraordinary service by independent insurance agents is a model for other industries to emulate.

This week, we are taking the unprecedented action of canceling Accelerate. In our organization’s more than 40 years of existence, our annual user group meeting has never been canceled … until now.

The events that drove this decision began last Friday when Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz declared a peacetime state of emergency. On Sunday night, the Centers for Disease Control recommended all events held during the next eight weeks should be canceled or postponed. Then, late Monday, we received notice that the Minneapolis Convention Center is following the recommendation of the CDC to restrict gatherings for the next eight weeks.

For the last few weeks, the NetVU board, our staff, and our numerous volunteers have anticipated the possible effects of the coronavirus and have analyzed our options and scenarios.

We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers, business partners, Vertafore leadership and staff, committee leadership, NetVU staff and board for the effort that has been put into Accelerate. We are especially grateful to the dedicated volunteers who have committed their time to developing educational content for Vertafore users.

We know that this will generate a number of questions on your part. We are working through everything as quickly as possible to provide you with clarity around this cancellation and what it means to you.

We ask that you please be patient with us as we identify next steps. As soon as we have more definitive information, we will promptly share it via email and on our community platform NCOM, found at

NetVU is an organization that is dedicated to delivering quality education, providing networking opportunities for its members, and helping drive your success. We remain committed to this and we’re considering new and alternative ways to do so in 2020 in light of this cancellation.

As we navigate through these unchartered waters in the coming weeks, your health and safety are our top priorities.  Please take care of yourself, your family and your office staff.
